9th Memorial Cavalry
We are the 9th Memorial Cavalry, a Living History Organization dedicated to teaching the true history of the “Buffalo Soldiers” who helped to tame the Old West
Operation Gratitude annually sends 100,000 care packages filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation addressed to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed in hostile regions, to their children left behind and to Wounded Warriors recuperating in Transition Units.
Blue Star Ranch is an equine-assisted safety-net provider for mental health services with internationally recognized certification. The horses help veterans overcome known barriers to engaging and staying in treatment. They can help families in post deployment transition build resilience.
– Operation Shower is about celebrating and honoring military families. Operation Shower is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides joyful baby showers for military families to ease the burden of deployment. For military families who are expecting a new baby and are experiencing or have recently experienced deployment, we accomplish our mission through: hosting amazing baby showers, delivering high-quality products, creating a shared experience, partnering with organizations to provide value-added services, such as health-related information.
Being away from the ones you love while serving our country can be difficult. We understand, and we want you to be able to have a little piece of home while you’re away. Yellow Ribbon Photographers is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2010 by Andy and Michele of Normand-Ashley Photography, consisting of member photographers that have donated their talent and time to photographing servicemen and women. Our goal is to provide professional images to soldiers who are about to deploy, so that they may bring along a small piece of home with them. On a case-by-case basis, the loved ones of soldiers who have already left can request a photographer for special occasions (birth of a child, etc.) or as a simple reminder of home.
