DOFR teams up with HVNOMAS!

Defenders of Freedom Radio teams up to go one step further for our Veterans. We are now part of a great organization started by some friends and myself, those friends are Veterans. Please take a moment to click on the link http://hvnomas.com as we continue to support all veterans. Our vision is to raise awareness as well as funds to help in placing them in the safest environment possible. It is our vision to voice strongly that they should not come home and continue the battle at home. Fisherhouse.com will be the first of its kind here in New Mexico. Expenses for veterans to travel lodge while they are here to get treatment at the VA can get pretty expensive. They will have lodging provided for them and their families, please consider donating to such a worthy cause. Because we all care. Thank you.

DOFRADIO is proud to be part of HV NO MAS Our love and dedication to Veterans continues through our music.

Thank you “Academy Of Western Artists”

Thank you “Academy Of Western Artists”

Do you know I had a vision on what I wanted to do? In 2011 I set out acting on that vision. I knew I wanted to do something with music for our troops. I also knew it had to be music. Not having a clue I started. I Had no music and really didn’t understand how any of it worked. But I continued. I even designed my logo. I was fortunate enough to attend my first WMA in 2011. That started a whole new chapter in my life. I wanted more. There was more, lots more to country and somehow I understood as I was introduced to it all that year. I paid attention. I asked questions. The more I recognized the sound the more I wanted. Internet radio stations have many challenges. We probably have more to do than most of you who have the liberty of adding music to your list and spinning the sound. More money more responsibilities. Oh yes how well I know. My external hard drive crashed one time, leaving me with little to no music. I lost it all, except for my country sounds. Thank God. But I continued. At times I thought I Was alone. But my passion grew yet more to continue. I upgraded several times adding more of this and that. So you could utilize the site more. I have had the pleasure of coming in contact with artists who’s passion is shared with the world and wanted to contribute in part for our Defenders.

No I wasn’t alone. I only really knew Marvin O’Dell and Clif Freligh he used to come over to give me music and explain to me the differences. So thank you. Lots of support when someone actually knew I needed help. I met and made new friends who would help. I loved the help. Persevering one day at a time. I only hoped that others appreciated my vision. You did. My sons are artists. They welcome the sounds that were left by the late great Freddie Brown. Long long ago I actually thought he was the world. No one sang like him. A cross over from Latin to cowboy country classic. Oh he sang like the heavens. But little did I realize the effect I had would continue to this day. I love the fiddle. I thank my grandfather for introducing me to it at an early age encouraging me as I went to lessons weekly. Lord could he play the fiddle and accordion. Today I hear the sounds I love long ago.

I love what has been in front of me. I whole heartily support the AWA “Academy Of Western Artists” as well as the WMA “Western Music Awards”. Music speaks in volumes. It touches us with feelings only a heart filled with passion for it understands. This is my short bio and I’m very proud of it all. Thank you for all the support. The world sings because we care. Together we can. Today I’m convinced you care. Thank you for making my vision a reality. Gracias!!! Thank you Bobby Newton. Everyone involved with it all you are my direct links to love. I care. I’m Dodie Brown and my music is a mixture of Flavor. It’s me!!! Let’s go one more time!!!! To our Veterans. This is for you. May God Bless you with a blanket of Love and a Prayer of Hope! I also want to thank you Lord for the trials that have made me yet stronger. I wouldn’t be the woman I’m today. When my passion is strong, my commitment will be stronger.

Merry Christmas

I would personally like to share warm cheers with you and you.  We at Dofradio wish to extend the cheers around the world.   Christmas is my favorite time of the seasons.  The older I get the more I appreciate the memories of long ago.  The memory of when the kids used to get so excited for ole St. Nick.  When all through the house.  Wishing for a White Christmas.   Singing the Christmas carols.  Sharing the old traditional foods that we here in New Mexico prepare.  That special touch with the red chile we are so proud to have.  The tamales, the posole, the biscocitos, the candy canes, the stockings waiting to be filled.  Oh yes the memories all so fond.  Let’s not forget the luminareos that we look forward to each year too. Decorations red and blue.  Sometimes the white will do.  My favorite time to see them all shine.   Do you remember who played Santa coming down the chimney?  If there wasn’t one, we would just pretend that any moment he would ho ho ho….. Aw the memories so fresh like just yesterday.  It’s really easy to write and share with you about how I feel.  My heart listens as the music sings.  I miss my children’s little  face. But now the grand kids have grown too.  Yet the littlest ones bring back the love full of joy.  Their faces light up and they know, have you been naughty or nice?   Remember those old photos?  Ah yes let us hold on to that happy time when we gave thanks for the real reason for the season.  Of course Christ was born.  We celebrate his birth.  We exchange gifts of love.  Bring forth a king.  The world still goes as the stories are still told.  I’m grateful yet for it all.  The years come and they go.  Does it seem as though things have changed?  The politically have told.   Who’s right or who’s wrong?  I know that for me it will always be Merry Christmas.  I love the cheers and stories.  I love to share all that I have for others to feel the love that should be shared.  Remember to extend the hand.  Reach and tell everyone you appreciate what the good Lord has blessed you with.  Another year has almost ended.  As I sit here writing, I think about all our brave men and women who will be away from home.  If you would like to send a shout out to your loved one.  Simply leave a shout out in the comment area.  That easy.  Remember that we share our freedoms because of them.  Thank you from Dofradio.  I’m happy that I can share the music the lyrics that sing around the world.  That’s all for now.  Please have a blissful Christmas and love sing, eat.  Let’s all be merry.  Will you walk with me, us?  Yes.  Well thank you……..I’m Dodie, Spanish Flavor and I wish you all of you a Merry Christmas.  Thanks for your support for all our Defenders……….. Another Christmas is upon us…… Soon it will be yesterday.

DOFRadio salutes Herman Maes

The following was sent over to me by my daughter. Needless to say this touched me. Herman was my daughters father. As the story goes it was told to T Branson sometime ago. He passed away yesterday November 30,  2015.
In memory Soldier we Salute you.

WORDS FROM MY DADDY… Herman Maes thinking of old memories..
Years ago I gave you a pair of dog tags but I never told you the story Behind those tags The Viet Nam war was a war where we never got credit for what we were fighting. The US Government did not support us and the people back in the states hated us for what we were doing. When I returned home every returning solider on that plane rolled and kisses the cement as we walked to the terminal . At that point and time in my life I realized what freedom was and I have never turned my back on my Country and never will. I wore those dog tags around my neck since they were issued to me in 1967 by the United States Army. I wore those dog tags with pride because I knew I was a solider for my country and I had taken an oath and signed a contract to fight for freedom for our country and that deal included me giving my life for my country. The day I gave you those dog tags is the first time they were removed from my neck. I am and was a combat solider. I wore those same dog tags around my beck when I fought for our freedom in the jungles of Vietnam. Cambodia and Laos. Mi hito I know there’s been a lot of changes in our lives and you probably didn’t know my history and the blood sweat and tears that that are contained in those two pieces of metal. If you still have them , I would be honored if you wear them today with pride and remember that those two pieces of metal are part of the American Freedom we have today..
